I’m guessing this will be something you can enable for 24/7 recording of all exterior cameras. I wonder how big of a hit that will be on range.

Is there any good software out there that would be able to easily stitch together video from all of the exterior cameras into one of those 360 degree videos you see on YouTube?

Great, this is progress but they also need to provide security for the trunk by providing security for the rear seat releases. As many CA owners have stated, having a video of a crime against your car doesn't get the police to take any action.

Elon also clarified in another tweet that Sentry Mode will be available for all vehicles equipped with AP 2.0 or above hardware. Purchase of Enhanced Autopilot is not required to use Sentry Mode since it’s considered a safety and security feature.

Sentry mode uses enhanced summon to run over plebes who dare get within 2' of a Tesla.

Sounds like it is a dash cam feature - active on all cameras - resulting in 360 degree videos. So, after your car gets a window smashed or a big dent, you'll have a picture of the a-hole to add to the memorial.

I was hoping Sentry mode would open some temporary short to the body frame when broken glass is detected to fry the intruder... I suppose I'll take a camera solution though.

On the other hand, the Cassandra in me thinks that this Sentry mode may invite determined burglars to smash not only windows but cameras (and the parts they latch on) too!

Hey Elon - How about that MCU1 --> MCU2 retrofit you promised, so that those of us with cars barely 1.5 years old can leverage these features?

Next thing you know, Supercharger V.3 will only be for the later model cars as well.

I hope that it's not 24/7 recording, but that it records if it detects movement near the car. Maybe use the neural network to identify if it's a person or car.

That way if someone gets close you can get a push notification, and then you can use summons yourself to run them over.

I think you are confusing this with the overhead 360 parking view some cars offer.

The Model 3 is incapable of offering that feature as the cameras aren't the right type or angle for it.

This would be using all 8 cameras to take 360 degree video "pointing out" from the car for security reasons, like having 8 dashcams covering all around you- not the overhead 360 thing.

Looking forward to the release! But the concern is, it wouldn’t prevent thieves from getting the USB if they follow Tesla. It would be great if thy provide the option to upload the recordings to the cloud. May be a subscription base? $5/month?

Sentry Mode will work fine on MCU1.

Nothing to stop a thief from stealing a regular dash cam either.
