Is your car AP1?
Model X P100D built June 2017. I guess it's HW2 based on that build date.

Yes that’s AP2.Model X P100D built June 2017. I guess it's HW2 based on that build date.
You need 2.5Yes that’s AP2.
Strange you didn’t get sentry, maybe that requires 2.5?
Yes although I still recall Elon Musk’s comment about 4 years ago that the tesla will be the last car you will ever need to buy, as the motor will last forever and the software updates will keep it current. Guess that didnt work out so well.Best thing about Tesla also the worst thing about Tesla: they keep improving.
No matter when you buy, it's always 6 months before somethign better comes along.
This car is capable of having its hardware upgraded and will get upgraded if the owner purchased FSD or if they do in the future. So, it's still the last one he'll have to buyModel X P100D built June 2017. I guess it's HW2 based on that build date.
Not really true. FSD at most will only upgrade the computer, not any of the cameras or the radarThis car is capable of having its hardware upgraded and will get upgraded if the owner purchased FSD or if they do in the future. So, it's still the last one he'll have to buy
Tesla seem to saying that the cameras and radar are already enough, so just the computer upgrade will be needed. Not really true. FSD at most will only upgrade the computer, not any of the cameras or the radar
Right, that's what I'm saying. Which means those of us on AP2 won't be getting Teslacam or sentry mode.Tesla seem to saying that the cameras and radar are already enough, so just the computer upgrade will be needed.

Tesla Sentry Mode catches deliberate attack against Model 3, vandal arrestedI paid for FSD at time of purchase, but I honestly doubt they'll deliver FSD before the car is retired.
Telsa would get a ton of goodwill by making sentry available for HW2 customers who are already going to get a HW3 computer anyway. Speaking from experience when my Tesla was recently keyed, if I had that side vision I could have proven the offender (as I had his rego from the BlackVues). The police, magistrate or insurer would not care if it's not full colour; it's enough for the timestamp to show the guy doing it and the better full HD BlackVue cameras showing who it was. It's not like we can fit BlackVues to side of the Tesla, and it's all the more frustrating given there are already cameras right there.
I did consider replacing the Tesla with a newer Tesla, but with the changeover cost it's cheaper repairing the keyings (at $1,000 a pop).
If you have bought a model M you will never get sentry mode or indeed any other feature. Tesla dont make a model M...
What is the Stats App?The Stats App has the feature to automatically turn on Sentry Mode when you park your car, excluding those spots you label them as "safe" via the map interface. Very convenient.
That's the one. It worths the every penny.
