If you have your phone as a key and on you the car will know it is you and not alarm.Hi. I have sentry mode turned on. Is there supposed to be a big red circle on the screen to deter thieves? My screen is black. I can walk straight up to the door and nothing happens. I thought it supposed to flash lights? Thanks.
Thanks. No phone or key with me. I thought there should be a big red circle eye on the screen when the car is locked? If you have your phone as a key and on you the car will know it is you and not alarm.
I know what it is. I think it’s because my work was excluded then I unticked the option. I believe you have drive off and back again for it to activate. Will see what happens tomorrow.Only when it’s triggered. Walk in front of a camera will usually trigger it. Or pretend to be a drop of rain/leaf on a tree half a mile away, that will do it too![]()

Does the big red eye show on the screen when they approach?
Thanks. Mine is just a black screen. Hopefully it works tomorrow. It says recording, sentry activated and the "eye" lens, yes. I believe they had to change the exact image used due to copyright issues.
Mines not working then. I have it turned on.You can activate in the app under controls, even in an area where excluded.
When the app shows it is on, walk up to the side of the car and try the door handles.
Yes, you should see the screen then on.

Thanks. It’s my Apple Watch letting me open the car. I didn’t realise the Tesla watch app lets you open the door without pressing the unlock icon on it.Sentry works at multiple levels - its only at highest alert level that the screen and lights get activated. I have no idea how the levels are decided but if you went to the car with no phone and tried the drivers door handle you should at least get an on screen message, possibly even the lights.
Are you sure this wasn’t a coincidence? I’m not aware of the Tesla app having any kind of support for the Apple Watch.T

I use watch app for Tesla. You do have to press the unlock logo on it so must have been a coincidence. Are you sure this wasn’t a coincidence? I’m not aware of the Tesla app having any kind of support for the Apple Watch.
Same here. Love it. Also have a bunch of shortcuts set up.I use watch app for Tesla. You do have to press the unlock logo on it so must have been a coincidence.
Latest update defaults the Sentry system to not use exterior cameras to trigger.I have a Model Y 2022. Sentry Mode works, but when I turn off my Bluetooth and play with the doors, no eye appears on the screen?
sentry mode is active. without the new addition for detection. (which is new with new update). Do I have to reset the screen?Latest update defaults the Sentry system to not use exterior cameras to trigger.
Try enabling them in Settings and have another go.
