I have a 20 16 1/2 model S manufactured in November 2016. The sentry mode comes on the screen and actually activates when you go near the car. However as you all know it will not record. I would think that as the theft of the Tesla cars is on the rise around the world that Tesla would want to protect the fact that these cars are very difficult to steal And activate the record mode. What is their problem???

The problem is that your car doesn’t have the hardware necessary to record video. You can pay for a hardware upgrade that will give you that feature, or you can buy a third party dashcam.
