Sentry not recording on Samsung 256GB USB drive

This is odd. The Samsung drive is identical to the Tesla with the only exception of being double in size. Same appearance too. I have put the original 128GB Tesla drive back in to see if it solves. I do like the Sentry feature.

Did you try to format your USB drive in FAT32 or EXT4? That should to the trick...

I actually formatted vis the car itself. it did it in ExFat.

Try formatting it in your computer and then putting creating the "TeslaCam" folder on it.

I just did this last night and using Mac Disk Utility, I portioned it also. Fingers crossed.

One point of clarity- Sentry does not record video.

Dashcam does.

The only video thing Sentry does is, if it goes to alert mode, it will move the last 10 minutes of dashcam footage from RECENT folder to SENTRY folder.

Sentry mode works fine without even having a USB stick in every other way, it just won't move the dashcam video over for you if it doesn't exist.

So if you're not getting any video on your USB stick it's dashcam, not sentry, you'd need to troubleshoot.

(but yes it's usually some kind of formatting/file folder issue)
