As I was catching up on the forum, I recall there was a comment regarding some potential changes to the servicing/warranty situation muttered by some Tesla reps. I hazily recall something about maybe reconsidering the first 4 years in some way.

So my questions:
(1) For anybody that runs across the threads referencing that chatter, some links would be great. I may go try to dig them up myself later, if I can come up with some viable search criteria.
(2) Have we heard anything new on the warranty/servicing front since August?
(3) Have any proud owners signed up yet? If so, I'd love to see some screenshots/scans of the official paperwork.

Edit:
Darn. I meant to say Servicing in the title rather than Warranty. Mods feel free to fix it for me. Thanks, Bonnie.

Our delivery specialist specifically stated that we would only have to pay for service "after the first 4 years." The conversation began with him saying how we wouldn't have to pay for any maintenance or service. Thinking he was just talking about the lack of fluid changes, etc, I told him that I thought service was $600 for every year or 12k miles. His reply was "Only after 4 years." He seemed pretty sure about it, but I can never seem to get the same answer out of 2 different Tesla employees!

Here is my question to the Ownership team and their response:

1) I would like to pre-buy the 4 year maintenance contract (not with rangers, I'm quite close to the Menlo store). How can I do that?

a. We are finalizing details on the maintenance contract and offering it shortly. Once it is released, you’ll have 30 days from that day to purchase the service contract.

2) The ambient lighting creates a very audible and irritating buzzing sound. Where should I make an appointment to have that addressed?

a. We are aware of the issue and there is a fix in the works. In the meantime, if the screen brightness is set to 100%, the buzzing will go away.

A couple of weeks ago I told my local service advisor that I'd like to sign up for the pre-paid Model S service agreement. I was told that they "made a note" that I would like to purchase it, and would process it when they were "able". There are multiple ways to read that; from they are just busy right now (this was from a Seattle service advisor that was down in Fremont), to a process needs to be put in place, to changes are coming. From CalEECS' exchange, it sounds like there are changes, although they may be minor.

For what it's worth, I have also been told that there are minor changes coming to the Roadster extended service agreements; but it sounded like they were small changes too.
