    any one else get called from the DS
    to get main instrument cluster replaced ?
    it works just fine
    but my DS told me my car was one that had a problem with it

    Haven't heard anything like that. What's your VIN range? Did he tell you what the issue is?

    First I've heard of it. What's your VIN (the last 5 digits, or rough range if you'd prefer)?

    Probably a manufacturing defect discovered by the vendor.

    update
    the DS told me that the vendor for the instrument cluster had a bad batch of cold solder joints
    so it was just preventive maintenance to replace it

    Most dealers would wait until it fails, then force you to take your car in and find your own ride to work while they replaced it. And if outside warranty? Tough luck.

    Love that proactive service.
