Wow, memories, my folks moved literally three blocks from here during my college years. I think my mother bought a Mercedes from a Benz dealer that used to be right across the street from this future Tesla site...

Too bad that aside from Pasadena, the SGV is a complete desert when it comes to superchargers.

Some more pictures of the site. Doesn’t appear any work is being done atm.

So the entire block on Main St. from Olive to Curtis is essentially completely empty. Looks like the original Mazda property is shown in red below. Lots of car dealers on this stretch of Main St. The lots you see in yellow below the new Tesla facility are probably leased by other dealers. There are security signs up warning of active video in use. Not sure what that building with the 17 on it is, I'll have to take a closer look next time. 17 S. Olive looks to be an apartment building checking Google street view.

The City of Alhambra website is useless for online searching of building permits. The web turned up nothing either for this site. We will have to watch it develop to get an idea of what changes will be made to the site, if any. The main building shown in prior thread pictures is in quite good shape. It has been cleaned out, with a broom left on the single table inside. Tesla signs visible on the doors of a couple of the buildings.

Site initially seemed quite large when I walked it just now, but looking at the Google image not really a lot of space for parked vehicles. Somewhat reminiscent of the Burbank location, where every square inch of space is packed like a sardine can. If Tesla also leased one of the nearby empty lots for overflow, then the site would be much more workable. Next time out I will check for nearby lots that have been emptied out.

Once some of these ICE age dinosaurs go belly up, there will be ample space available for staging the new Tesla's awaiting delivery...

I can confirm that 17 Curtis is an apartment complex; 19 appears to be an overflow lot for Bravo Chrysler Dodge.

14 is being utilized for New Century BMW’s overflow.

Originally their overflow lot was on 1303 W. Main but that lot appears to have switched to Toyota of Alhambra‘s overflow as of early November.

Interestingly enough 1303 is subdivided into four parcels so maybe Tesla can sublease one for overflow?

Not sure whether to call this progress or not, more like lack of progress. No substantial change to the site really at all. The single table in the showroom still has the infamous broom resting on top of it. However, there were some cones in front that look to be associated with maybe the electrical for the sprinklers? Oh well...

The priority list needs some attention:
1. Sprinklers
2. Service
3. Showroom

I can officially report on some progress ! Unfortunately it looks like backward progress. I saw some signs in the window driving up. Thought maybe they were construction permit related or hiring notices. Instead, they are signs redirecting customers to go to Glendale to test drive Model 3s or Model Ys. Total of 3 signs on the outside street facing storefront.

Did a quick drive-by yesterday, and saw zero activity on the property. There was a white Model 3 parked directly in front of the main building, which seemed odd. I didn't see anyone inside. I should have stopped and done a walk-by to investigate further. My bad, will be sure and try thinking more clearly next time I get even a hint of actual forward progress.

A couple recent morning trips showed that there is the occasional homeless person sleeping on the bench seat to the West of the main building.

RT

P.S. I may start swinging by the San Gabriel Supercharger construction site to satisfy my burning desire to see ANY actual Tesla construction. If they flew in a small plane full of the crew working on the Shanghai expansion, the service center in Alhambra would be done in 3 days.
