Service for old versus new models

It's been nearly four glorious years with my Model S #2647, delivered in December 2012. But I'm waiting on my P100D to come and it's time to finally get all the juicy updates everyone else has been enjoying.

The one thing I'm wondering about, however, is out-of-warranty service. My car has 60,000 miles on it, but I've never paid for any services since 50,000 miles. There have been a few little things, like a door handle going inop, that happened in that interval but my local service center fixed them no questions or dollars asked. Have other early-adopter S owners experienced this? I imagine it might be a goodwill gesture to those of us who were ready to jump in back in 2012.

Maybe I've ruined this by speaking about it... but now that my S 1.0 is heading back to the mothership I've been wondering if this is common.
