Some interesting points but he's mostly talking his book - trying to get carmakers to build "batteries not included" cars. But who will supply the batteries? Oh you mean he has a company that does that? Uh-huh.

I can see room for a sales model where you buy the chassis (at once price) and lease or buy the battery at another. Then the battery cost + electricity is presented as the ongoing cost of driving, like fuel is for fossil fueled cars. Many people are not equipped to pay massive initial investment to avoid long term operating expenses.
