Do I have to pay extra if I place an online order for a car that is outside my province?

For example, the car is in Calgary but my home location is Ottawa ...

Actually that's a question for Tesla, not us here. But in the good old US of A, on a new car, the delivery fee is the same, be it Utah, New York or Hawaii. Tesla sold used Tesla's, vary. So that might make a different to you. You might find the info on Tesla.com by seeing if there are exceptions to the delivery fee for your country or region. So, unless your thread draws the attention of another person in your situation you will unlikely get an exact/absolute answer - without Tesla.

let me clarify my question ... i am looking at an online inventory unit in a distant location. since tesla sales their car "online" and the buyer can search the inventory based on location (zip code), we should be able to order any car on tesla's inventory list?

In that case, you need to talk to Tesla. Historically the prices have changed for shipments dependent on distance. And that was particular accurate for USA.
