Should I apply to "Customer Experience Manager" to get an update on my order?

Order from Spring 2019. Changed from RWD to AWD with the price decrease in early Summer. Besides the modification, I've diligently filled out my Tesla account for my Y and about a month ago, I changed from outside financing to Tesla financing, completed the application and got 2.49% financing.

I've heard NOTHING on my order. Not once have I gotten a text, an email, a delivery advisor. *Crickets* I've tried speaking with a friend's delivery advisor in the same city, I've tried the Delivery Day chat, I've emailed the contact that was once mentioned in this forum. I've barely had any back and forth communication. The delivery advisor went dark as soon as I gave them my RN number. What gives?

Looks like there is a position available as Customer Experience Manager at my nearest showroom. I'm beginning to think that I've got a unique story for an interview, and figure I could take the job merely as a means of figuring out what's going on with my order. I'm thinking this might be my best course of action... thoughts?

Have you logged into your account? Look for the MVPA in the lower right. If it's there, you likely have a VIN. If its not, cant hurt to reach out to DA.

Thanks for looking out, but I'm pretty much perpetually logged into my account which I refresh probably a few times a day. Occasionally looking for a vin in the page source, even though I know this is fruitless. I wouldn't consider such an odd endeavor like applying for a position in a role which is basically the exact person I'm trying to reach out to, if I didn't feel I've exhausted any other alternative.

If you get this job, let me know, I am in a similar situation. RWD order in 2019, switched to AWD on July 8th of this year, and I don't get any updates from Tesla, only time I hear anything is when I call local Tesla dealership and I always hear 'order looks good, should receive a VIN soon'.

Pretty much the same thing I heard from my friends DA who looked into this for me, then never replied to my follow-up asking if putting in a whole new $100 deposit would result in quicker delivery.

As a fellow east-coast RWD to AWD convert, I think there is some comfort in that camaraderie.

The DA I was in contact with basically said there were roughly 1,000 Model Y being delivered into Orlando on a weekly basis, starting mid August (basically saying that besides some initial deliveries, there was a gap in delivering anything to our area until this month), and that surely one of them should be mine.

With that in mind, I figured by switching to AWD I'm at the end of that line (totally understandable), but I still question how long that line must be if Tesla still advertises delivery in 6 weeks, which is as long as I've been in contact with the DA.

What SC are you picking up in?

Mark Gomez? Oh my - that was the person who was referred to in another thread as someone to reach out to as the "savior" of people's orders... First thought, small world. Second thought, did him putting himself out there result in... that?

I would recommend using the chat function on the Tesla website and asking for an update on your order. I am in a very similar situation, day 1 reservation and converted to AWD in early summer. Crickets since my order was updated. No emails, no text messages, nothing. When I reached out via chat, I was told there was a "hold" on my order which they removed. I am guessing this is related to having a RWD reservation but who knows... Extremely frustrating since I have no idea where I sit in the queue and have my lease due back next week.

I am a RWD to AWD convert also, made the change on July 8th and was told 4-8 weeks as that was the time on the Tesla website, since then crickets. I have tried using the Tesla chat function several times to get an update and am always told to 'talk to your vehicle specialist'. Finally go a hold of my VS and she said my account looks good and just waiting on a VIN. Told VS it has been almost 7 weeks now and that the website says 3-5 weeks now, still no commitment. I am trying to be as patient as I can with this process.

I’m in the same boat. Day one RWD order; changed to AWD in mid-July. Seems like my order is in some sort of limbo... but at this point I can see what September brings and I have a Model S to hold me over in the meantime which isn’t so bad. Maybe I’ll switch back to RWD :p

Just remember Tesla makes ongoing changes, improvements and price reductions. The longer we wait the better the car will be. This what happened to me on my Model 3. So I am ok with waiting on the Y however long it takes. September is the last month in Q3. You can bet Tesla will be ramping deliveries as quickly as possible.

Eatonville.
That is the SC I use. There were a few issues in communication with my DA but overall she was responsive. I also noticed the job opening there. While I was there, the store mgr actually helped me take delivery since it was so busy. Send me a PM if you want to talk specifics. I may be able to give you an email (it’s a general one) but one I’ve had luck communicating with during my pre-delivery.

Totally agree. Certainly still concerned over quality, but I had targeted end of Q3 as a decent enough time to try to arrange for delivery then. Within 7 days +/- of Battery Day, just in the off chance something is announced I'd want to know about. This is why I applied for financing a few weeks ago - so that my 60-day window will end the first week of October.

Thank you. I am texting with another DA (I assume) at the SC since the one I was given from a friend passed me on to her. So we will see how that goes.

It looks like that the new order will be fulfilled faster than converters.. From Reddit, people often got it within three weeks. Sometimes I felt that our oders fell into cracks, and were forgoten.. I am in no hurry getting it and hope for a better built car.
