Should I be tipping when they pick up and drop off my car?

I just had a sudden fear that perhaps I should be tipping the nice guys who pick up my Tesla from work for service (and return it). Anybody have any thoughts on that?

Now I know why they linger before leaving. :) I guess I owe them doughnuts.

I contracted for Ranger service and prepaid hundreds of dollars in advance. No, I'm not tipping. If I were getting it as a *courtesy* I might feel differently...

I hate this tipping business in the U.S., never knowing whether to tip or how much. I envy Japan where there is no tipping and it is an insult to offer anyone a tip.

I didn't think to tip the few times the car was dropped back at my house.

    I don't think there is a standard.

If you want to ..... tip If you don't want to..... don't.

Some times I feel like tipping and other times I don't feel like it. What I feel like is my standard.

Tipping in the US has been a good way to pass the cost on to the end consumer. This way you don't have to pay the employee fair wages and pass the cost on by guilting the

Really becomes a problem when it is expected of you, with no thankful gratitude in return.

My brother used to be a car mechanic and he always did a little extra if the customer did a little extra for him in the way of brownies or cookies.

We always try to “do a little extra” whenever our car goes in for service. My wife has a great recipe for Zucchini Bread so we bake a loaf and put it in the boot for our tech/mechanic.

We always seem to get great service.

Good Zucchini bread is the best.

I always take doughnuts to the SC if I go in the am. I would never tip them.

Give them a thousand bucks, if you can afford it.

If not, then no. I'm sure they are well compensated for doing their job. And we don't want yet another service come to expect tipping, when it originally was not done.

Although I usually go along with it, I hate seeing tip jars at service counters, where basically we stand in line to pay money for a product. Now it is the norm.

I guess you can tell by now that I am an old guy.
