There's probably a huge thread about it already that I have no time to participate in but to be clear, CR has always stated the Model S performs well in their road test. When they had sufficient reliability data, it was average. Then it to slipped to below average, which meant automatic disqualification from recommendation. It's now returned to average, allowing it to be recommended again.
This happens ALL the time with other vehicles that CR has recommended, in some years pulled for any # of reasons such as reliability and later recommended again. That does not translate into "zero credibility".
Their reliability survey results are again reader surveys of a given 1 year period at a time and in order for them to have sufficient data for a given model year, they need to have at least 100 responses.
