Should I stealth wrap over my deep metallic blue MS?

The stealth wrap I saw on the old blue (which typically looks black anyway) actually made it look lighter and bluer than it did earlier. Maybe it was a trick of the light at that particular location, but I was surprised when they said it was the clear matte stealth film vs. a colored wrap.

Grats on your new S. Hope you love it, whatever you end up doing with the wrap.

Someone here on the board had it done, looked really good!
If you do it please post photos!

edit: here's the thread!

yep, looks nice!

Thanks for responding! I haven't seen anything posted in the last year or so with a satin or matte wrap, & wasn't certain if the color was the same blue as the blue in the previous postings. Maybe someone that has the current blue will respond once it's not the middle of the night. Hopefully once my MS arrives and has settled in, I'll start sleeping again.

If I do it, you can bet I'll post photos like crazy!

Thanks so much for the photos!

This helps a lot - I will probably either get a lighter blue matte wrap or just the regular xpel depending on how the color looks to me in person. I'm afraid this is just too dark for my taste, even if I just satin-wrapped the chrome vs blacking it out.

Paintpolisher, your car is so aggressive! I don't want race anyone or start any fights! I'm an old cat lady!

Are you excited about your future Model X?

Hey Lucy, before you go with xpel, see if you can get ahold of a sample of the nano-fusion film. I was surprised at the difference of quality/feel. Plus, nano-fusion has a lifetime warranty vs xpel's 10 yr (iirc).

Gonna look great either way on that blue!

thanks, LK!

I watched a video about the nano fusion product & it does look interesting. I just tried to GTS (Google That S#!%) & came up with nada in my state for installers. I guess this will give me a side project to distract me from constantly refreshing the MyTesla page. Maybe someplace near the showroom in Minneapolis installs the nano... ≧◠◡◠≦✌

Not sure if this helps, but here are pictures of my midnight silver getting full XPel Stealth (satin finish). No regrets whatsoever. Would highly recommend trying to see one in person as pictures don't do it justice (sorry for the blurry cell phone pics). Shout out to First Impressions and Auto Paint Guard for doing this for me

Ok, so I decided against the stealth wrap, the only shop in this cow/pig town with experienced wrappers is so backed up they won't return phone calls and acted snotty when I visited before I got my MS. The other local shop is getting an xPel rep to come up from Houston and train using my car/wrap to make sure the job is done correctly. So my big blue baby is in the smaller local shop getting xPel Ultimate'd for the next few days, and I'm hating life.

I've only had him for 17 days and I'm already totally spoiled. I asked for a smallish rental, I got an ugly grey Camray that was last driven by children eating peanut butter with their hands as they drove. I didn't know how to start it or shift it. The only thing I liked better than my MS was that I could turn off the radio and the HVAC. Back to counting the hours until I get my Tesla! 1st world problems!

I think that's a wise move. My red car isn't wrapped, just Xpeld the front, but at night she looks BLACK! So weird. And I feel your pain. I had to leave her a whole day for the window tinting, and then another later for the wrapping. There were a few little bits I didn't like under the wrap but I can't bear to leave her again so I'm going to wait until I travel in Feb and have those bits fixed then so I don't miss her so much

And had to drive my previous SuV today after some "severe weather" here in SoCal (palm fronds everywhere!) and realized how much I have gotten used to the big beautiful screen and knowing the speed limits everywhere. And "double-tap" does nothing! 1st world indeed...
