I searched prior posts for an answer to this, but could not find anything. The question is, when the map screen is displayed but I have not activated navigation (i.e. no destination set), shouldn't the location of my Model S be displayed? I thought it did when the Delivery Specialist demoed the cars features, but I can't fnd any way to make it display now. I have the moving map enabled (blue "x" in upper right corner), and the center of the map corresponds approximately to my position, but there is no icon for the car.
Mine has the arrow (even with no destination specified). I haven't turned it off yet, so I'm not sure how to turn it back on if it goes away. If I discover, I'll let you know.
I've tried that. Even when using the nav feature the arrow showing the location of the car does not appear.
That's a glitch. I have the red arrow both on the map and when I have a destination in the Nav system. Send an email to [email protected] (preferably with a photo) and they should be able to help you.
I have the exact opposite problem: My google map shows a red arrow but the position noted is 100s of miles away. Hopefully the next firmware update fixes all these issues.
That was very helpful. They suggested rebooting the display (by holding down the scroll buttons on either side of the steering wheel). That fixed the problem!
