Shut down may be related to retooling for AWD?

Does anyone have any information, thoughts or opinions on the recent M3 production shutdown as possibly being related to the initiation of AWD production? I was invited to configure last week and am rolling the tax credit dice at least until early Aug on the AWD,

Unlikely, as Elon said AWD will not be available until production hits 5,000 cars/week.

The AWD is not that a hard thing to add as we’ve seen that the car is all ready for it hardware-wise.

The current shutdown is to improve the line for the next step up in production rate. The line will shut down again in another month or so for another step up in production rate. AWD will likely come in Q3 and be preceded by another shutdown and production line modification.

Yes, we all are well aware of that. If they get to 5,000. Which they may or may not.

Two years was a joke. Like the car itself? You could order it two years ago?
