Signs of impending frunk failure?

Reading all of those reports of frunks being stuck has me paranoid - but not enough where I don't use it at least once a day. Typically, I keep food/smelly items in there, almost always in a low profile cooler I bought for this purpose. I dread the day though, that my frunk doesn't open and items might get stuck in there for days/weeks.

Does anyone know whether there are any signs of frunk latch failure starting to happen, or a bad part number I can check for? How widespread is this?

I think it is uncommon, though apparently it does happen. I use my Model 3 frunk regularly, no problems.

It is impossible to determine from online reports what percentage of all cars produced have a specific problem. People go online to complain about problems they are having. People who don’t have problems don’t start a thread and post “No problems today”.

Happened to me and there was no warning. I use the frunk at least several times a week and without warning it failed with my gym bag and laptop inside. SC fixed it the next day by replacing the primary and secondary latches.

No, because I'd be able to get a loaner - without the pain of having rotting food left in my trunk for days/weeks.

If you start to have to push the open button twice then that is a sign of failure, mine did that for about two weeks before finally not opening. It is just the secondary latch all you need is a small Ratchet and torx bit to open it
