Simple, cheap door edge guard for black M3

Found this for ~ 5 bucks at a local OReilley parts store.
It's nearly invisible in practice and lets you open the door
in tight parking spots without acting like a candy-ass,
no damage to the Tesla, no damage to the other car.

It was easier to cut two beveled pieces than bend it
around the break in the door shape. It has some sort
of innocuous adhesive already in the hollow, and it's just
the right gap for the M3 metal. It's been on for months
on the front doors on mine with no issues.

Oh, FWIW and if you like that unctuous wax look, this stuff
is amazing, and ok on plastics and glass, no white staining.

Id rather take the time to open my door cautiously, or as you eloquently put it “like a candy ass” instead of making my car look like $hit with come crap I bought at the local auto store that was on the shelf right next to the fake vents and light up air caps for my tires. But hey that’s just me. But I guess you can throw that door open whenever you want like a real man right??

Of course, different approaches. The reason I put this up is because
when you're not adjusting the lighting to show it, it's surprisingly un-
noticeable. And it's a modest "investment". And try as I may even my
most gingerly candyassed efforts have all too often often turned out
half-assed, e.g. trying to squeeze said ass out in a tight city garage,
with the door resting on the opponent's body. Shudder. Cheap insurance.

Coming soon: LED wheel well lights, full "carbon" interior, and Saran
Wrap + hair drier paint mummification tutorials. In the best of tastes.

2 years and this has held up very well. Still unnoticeable and doing its job. So many times I've inadvertently opened the door into a post or parking structure. No dings, no problems. I was going to put it on the other doors but forgot, and the driver's door is the important one.
