Yesterday, I drove form Dallas to Houston and back in under 13 hours in my S85. Here’s how it went: 7:20am - left home with 255mi range charge 8:26am – arrived in Corsicana SC (68mi) with 155mi left – ate breakfast at Whataburger 8:49am – departed with 215mi range 10:31am – arrived at Huntsville SC (122mi) with 58mi range – hung out in comfortable hotel lobby 11:02 – departed with 222mi range 12:23pm – arrived at Houston Galleria with 126mi range – ate lunch at mall – charge with HPWC 1:30pm – departed mall with 140mi – drove to a couple places locally 2:49pm – departed for Huntsville with 129mi range 3:57pm – arrived in Huntsville SC with 45mi range – watched Cowboy game in Hotel lobby 4:41pm – departed Huntsville SC with 210mi range 6:14pm – arrived Corsicana with 38mi range – ate dinner at Chili’s – watched end of Cowboy game 6:56pm – departed Corsicana with 206mi 8:04pm - arrived home with 102mi range A few points: Temperature was 32-42F the whole day (not ideal). Due to risk of freezing rain, I was often conservative in my estimates and could have cut down on charging times. Drove 75-80mph on most of the trip except the Huntsville-Houston-Huntsville legs because I was the most concerned about range there (drove 65-70). Charging at rates around 370mi/h at <50mi left to 90mi/h at 210mi left. Definitely not worth charging over 210mi unless you have to. Photos from Hunstville SC (with my son and a Lexus that moved the cones to ICE one spot): Great experience - Thanks TESLA!
