My mother has a 2014 MS that doesn't have navi (no tech package). I can get any old GPS with mapping and route planning for $100... the value in Tesla navi is the battery management and charging suggestions. A better route planner is difficult to use on her phone, but at least it connects to the car's tesla account to get battery status. So is there a navi app that runs natively on iphones that 1)calculates routes with charging, 2)knows SoC from the car live, 3)easy to see and use?
We checked with Tesla and we'd have to upgrade the head unit for $2700... for as many trips as she takes in a year, it's just not worth the upgrade cost.
