Thanks! Concerned this might be too long though. The vertical space below the Torx was not a lot. I'm going to order it and test it out (if they let me) on the model they have in store and report back.

I talked to my DS and asked if they would be able to remove the front license plate since, since Florida doesn't require one. He said, no problem.
I measured the available vertical gap. It's 8 cm so this tool should fit just fine. Thanks again!

Went to Service Center in Dublin, CA. They can't take it off for me and won't even let me borrow the socket for 5 min so I can take it off myself. But, they let me take pictures so I can buy it myself and use it once. Looks like it's a Torx Plus 10EPL

Oh, if they have a front plate requirement I can understand them being reluctant. Where I live there is none so a DS not taking it off makes less sense.

They won't even remove it in PA - a state that does not require a front plate. Must just be a corporate directive regardless of state. Annoying.

I'm in Florida, no front license plate required. My DS confirmed that they will take the front plate off by request before delivery.

Here is the definitive video for DIY removal the front license plate on the facelift Model S. BTW, I'd use the Gorilla Grip socket in place of the cutting wheel

Got Tesla today. This Gator grip does NOT work. The diameter is too large to fit in the space provided.
So DO NOT BUY.
Has anyone tried this? Not sure this would work either. The screw on the Tesla has 5 lobes, this tool set looks like its for a 6 lobe screw.
