So I figured out how to upgrade a P85D to ludicrous.

Talk was shown this week at BlackHat and Defcon, security conferences that are normally in Las Vegas but this year are online. The talk is already on Youtube at https://youtu.be/DycvqZTw-18. Live Q&A today at 4:30 PDT. Twitch.
Had to drop the pack and replace the contactors and fuse, as well as modify the shunt. Then do the firmware and configuration change. The latter required that I root the car.

Watched the video. Pretty cool stuff. I thought a portion of the HV wiring also needed to be swapped as part of the upgrade?

It'll be interesting to see what the aftermarket brings for the old S platform. The 3 is already getting work. I'd imagine voltage caps could also be removed.

By this thought, you could force a firmware upgrade to a p90d already equipped with the luda pack? (V3)? Rooting would affect software updates and service I'm guessing?
