We know 153119 has HW3. 151415 didn't...but I thought I saw 151540 did...but not 100% certain on that as I can't find it anymore.

Taking deliver of a new X later today. VIN is 155,445. Option code lookup on ev-cpo says APH3 so I guess that means HW2.5 for me. I guess I'll know for sure after pick up.

Interesting. I have a 153,xxx VIN that I take delivery of on Thursday, and my spec codes indicate HW3 (APH4). Which AP option did you choose when ordering?

I selected EAP and FSD.

Well, that shoots down my thought that maybe they are prioritizing HW3 in new builds that selected FSD, Very strange.

Once they start with the new hardware, I think that they would make all cars on that line with HW3 going forward. We know they don't build in VIN order so it's most likely that 153119 with HW3 was built after 155455 with HW2.5.

I suspect you'll find that each line builds a specific configuration, and that each line builds in VIN order, but the various lines aren't in lockstep.

I checked the online TeslaTap check for the MCU version and that didn’t change so no speed difference for web browsing and the like. Looks like only the autopilot hardware.

My VIN was 154487. I have seen later VIN numbers without the AP hardware in inventory ahead of my delivery so they definitely build out of order.
