Who knows what they would have done. But even if they did shut it down, shutting it down puts more pressure on the government than just a snippet.

Country wide, people are instantly aware that the government is stealing away a platform they enjoy in order to hide the truth.

People enjoy Twitter. Taking it away will make you unpopular.

But my point is that having it shutdown for a couple years (even if that does put more pressure on govt) is still worse than complying, making note of complying and fighting it in court.

There’s a reason moderators closed the Elon Musk thread and moved the Elon and Twitter thread to the Off Topic subforum. They all degenerated into toxic quibbling. So has this thread over the last few days. TMC does not lend itself to venting political or societal frustrations, anyone who feels that need can visit other, darker places on the internet.
