So my new Plaid with 8,760 miles on it destroyed its rear tires from faulty factory set toe-in.

Do you have an alignment read-out that shows your factory toe settings are outside of the OEM spec?
Well, that's the point. Factory spec apparently did this. Tesla realigned the car just over a month ago. There's quite a bit of history on this on the web. I took Michelin up on their generous offer. Once I get the new tires, I will have my local shop work with me to back off the rear toe in small increments and measure tread wear evenness every 500 miles or so.
