Happened to me this week.
Preheat the car.
Windshield cracked

Ranger checked and didn’t see anything that screamed bad install to him. My pictures are pretty crap thanks to my stupid iPhone which refuses to focus on anything anymore. He messaged me via the app and said that the installer is going to put it through under replacement warranty.

Wow, I have read so many people posting about cracked windshields during the pre-heat. It should be something Tesla looks into. I hope these issue go away for you.

Current software level turns on the front and rear defrosters at low outside temps whether you want or not. There is no way to turn them off. Tesla should modify the software to only turn on defrost once interior heat reached a certain temperature.

The pre-heat isn’t the culprit on its own, there’s more variables that need to be identified.
