There are two clips under the console between the seats that KC from Tesla had no idea what they were for!
    Any ideas?

I've always wondered that too actually. Would be nice if someone here knows.

Would the owners manual fit there?

I thought there was a tray for the owners manual under the passenger seat.

I have the same clips and question in my 1,5. There is a spot under the passinger seat for the manual.

Good to know about the passenger seat - I didn't think anything would fit under it.
The clip space is too small for the owner's manual (I did try).
BTW, the Tesla Ranger that came buy today (KC from the Dania Beach shop) did not know what they were for either!

Be careful putting the manual in that slot under the passenger seat, it may never come out again.....

Between those clips is where the iPod dock for the JVC unit comes out. But I'd never try and clip an iPod in there (mine sits in the tray below on a hand-trimmed StickyPad).

At least on the 1.5 the little tray under the passinger seat works well. It is easy to get the owners manual out.
It can however come out with a VERY hard stop.

    No clips on my 2.5

Guess that tray shrunk on my 2.5, tried it once and took me 30 minutes to get the manual back out. Now it stays in the trunk. Not a big issue.

I think that the clip is some type of magnetic medical device. Perhaps to read the battery's mind?

The clip is plastic at least on the 1.5. I took it out the other day and it basically covers the hole that you fish the i-pod cable through. I use them to wrap an i-pod to mini earphone adapter I have so I can play anything that accepts the 1/8" headphone jack.
