SoCal Rally Run 2013

Back in the day (you know you're old when you say that) when Tesla delivered their 500th car (a moment of silence) there was a SoCal Tesla Road Rally Run to commemorate it as seen in THIS TMC thread. We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun! "TESLAsterone" was King and "A Tesla the Hun!" had not yet been conceived. We had rallies in the summers of 2009, 2010 & 2011 & each time it was the largest gathering of privately owned Teslas in the WORLD! Nothing in 2012. The Hun! would like to participate in a SoCal Tesla Run... anyone else?

There will be a bunch of Tesla guys driving a rally through SoCal in July... July 7, to be exact. They just all started at the Canadian border.

So all the local clubs are having a dozen or so cars for a meet and greet...
I'm talking a MASSIVE run with > 100 cars and sponsored by TESLA...

Do you have any links to their rally?

We will leave the Embassy Suites hotel at San Luis Obispo, California in the morning of Sunday, July 7, 2013 and continue all the way to the Mexican border, to finish at the Residence Inn hotel in San Juan Capistrano, California. We expect to have "several" Tesla cars there. Roadsters will likely go directly to the hotel without going to the border first.

You are welcome to join in however you think might work. There is no reason we couldn't have 100 cars doing this.

There is a drive on Sunday at the end of Teslive. Probably 100 cars there. That would make it the biggest privately owned Model S gathering ever.

Tour de Tesla - TeslaRun

Went last night to an EPIC event. Tesla announced the Battery Swap!
Its not just about the announcement which is a game changer, but even the party (500-1000 people) was an event with music, open bar, food & fun.
The swagger was off the hook!

Speaking of EPIC, yesterday another announcement was made.

1. Hmmm, I've tried it on several platforms and no problems with the buttons. Could you please try again and if problematic let me know what platform you're using?
2. The event planner has done a number of these for Ferrari, Lambo, etc. and the top-shelf events always sell out because they'd rather keep them intimate; in addition, they are going to make an announcement at Teslive as to route and MAJOR sponsorship that is going to further up the ante. I look forward to an awesome event!

I concur. Trying to get them to do some updates but their holding off in doing them until the beginning of August when they will start marketing it more.
I'm just a poor schlepper who longs for those large road rallies that we used to have and wants a big turn out! I'll try to push them to update the site!

Ya, $75 with no real direction. I'll bet I can get a whole bunch more cars gathered and pay nothing. Actually, I have that very plan for the launch of the 3rd annual BC2BC-2014 All Electric Vehicle Rally in the 3rd-ish week of June 2014.

The folks in Europe just assembled 384 electric cars!!! We can beat that, and my goal is to have that many or more at San Diego's Liberty Station.
