SoCal Riverside: Western Community Energy

Any solar panel owners under SoCal Edison opt out of the transition to Western Community Energy? Or did you move forward with the transition?

I’m not sure it I want to opt or or not.

I hadnt heard of this, so went to check out the website. Its not available to my city (Temecula). Since I am grandfathered into NEM 1 with SCE, I would want to see if how they handle NEM credits now is how they will handle it in the future (grandfathering of current pay structure they are talking about).

I would also want to know what TOU rates they are assigning to you, etc... if you dont have batteries (powerwalls) that is going to matter.

Good call. I would have to check their rates. I’m leaning towards opting out as I learned that the credits from them cannot be applied to the line charges from SCE and vise versa.
