Might be the first update (among many?) that I skip. Can't see why I would install 2018.24.1 over 2018.21.9 to get worse maps on my S and X and a different nag text. Anyone have any idea why I should not just skip this one?
You can install our site as a web app on your iOS device by utilizing the Add to Home Screen feature in Safari. Please see this thread for more details on this.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.
I would 'assume' because of the new app features, this one ranks just below the 'we need new nags!' on the priority list. So, it's going out pretty quickly.
Edit: And I wasn't even thinking about the maps... I don't think that's why it's rolling so quickly. Perhaps the nag text is in the equation....
Well, my browser started working since 2018.24.1. In 2018.21.9 my browser was completely dead
Just out of curiosity what are you using the browser for anyway? It's slow, won't run all sites and if you need a browser most phones blow the Tesla browser away.

But, would my car be "selected" even if it is "out of reach"? Would I receive a notification on my phone about the update even when my car is in the underground parking completely offline?Doesn’t work this way. Your car must be “selected” to get it. And non wiFi cars are lowest priority. You can call service center and politely beg if you want.
You get the notification AFTER the download is complete and ready to install. So if not CELL or Wifi then no download. However, what others are saying it is the luck of the draw. I did just get this version last night which seems unusual for me. I am on strong Wifi most of the time since I work from home. Really looking forward to that day when we can request the download like Elon said would happen in a tweet. But, would my car be "selected" even if it is "out of reach"? Then all your undocumented fixes are for MCU2 cars. That stuff never broke on the MCU1 cars. Just sayin'You must have an older processor/browser. The browser is great. It's 17" of instant response. I can get information on a destination or any other topic we might be discussing in the car, and the passengers can see everything. fiddling with a phone while driving? It's against the law in Washington state.
An undocumented fix in 2018.24.1 was the owners manual, browser fix, and a couple of other minor details.
I do have the advantage of a new Model S fresh out of the Betty Crocker Easy Bake oven.
Another week goes by, another release permeates, and yet more posts going on about the nags and the same number of people telling us how to drive our cars yet again.
I just came back from the SC with my 3 - they said 21.9 is still the latest update?Doesn’t work this way. Your car must be “selected” to get it. And non wiFi cars are lowest priority. You can call service center and politely beg if you want.
I see the speed limit mode in the app. Neat! I can set it for myself to avoid the potential for inadvertent over-speed acceleration when joining a motorway
What would be super cool would be an option to tune the acceleration curve. ICE drivers seem to take a few goes to get the hang of 'whoosh!' in the Tesla. It'd be neat to be able to create a super-chill mode with a very laid-back curve.
Interesting if so. Be, um, weird to go full speed and hit the wall (as it were) at 50 or whatever!I think that when you set the speed limit it also enables the CHILL mode which tames the acceleration curve.
Text stays in readable horizontal orientation when you “spin” the map.How do I tell if I have vector maps?
I assume you mean some text, like place markers (and those that actually do have a 'marker')? I have those sticking horizontal, but other things like road names obviously stay 'on the map' alongside the road in question. Correct?Text stays in readable horizontal orientation when you “spin” the map.
