You must enable it in the autopilot settings in the car before the app will work

Thanks for the advice Johnny Mac, I did try that as well and no dice. I called a friend that received it earlier that week and he just said to wait and try the next morning. That worked! Perhaps that bug was worked out since because my friend just installed 28.1 today and summons worked right away.

Well it would be helpful to list what phones you tried.

Both were iPhone 7's. Turned out I just needed to wait. Woke up and tried the next morning and worked like great. My friend just installed 28.1 today and didn't have any issue. Worked straight away so perhaps the issue has been resolved.
