Had it too. Had to call support this week and they re-enabled it. I had been driving on high beam for a whole day!

To be clear, the update referenced in the Elecktrek article is not 2018.6.1. It is being "beta-tested" which, apparently, means different things to different divisions within Tesla because I thought we were all beta testing AP. It'll hopefully come as a 2018.8 release and go wide after some initial rollout.

Yeah, if anything, 2018.6.1 starting to go wide is a good sign that the next thing that'll happen is a super slow trickle update with the new Autopilot stuff.

I have AP1 and I got this update this morning, so there's probably more to it than displaying cars in other lanes for AP2.

Yep, a good note that they need a consistent base to add other things. We're up to 80-plus just today. Now WTF is my copy? :D I'm almost beginning to think my car is in the 'stuck' category... If it's absent over the weekend, I might have to call Support and have them check!

If you didn't have any of the 2018's before, it has the preconditioning interface with the app, and all that. I don't think 'full rollout' discriminates, however. Look at 2017.50.2/3. Went to everyone, if I recall.

I mentioned it in another thread but thought I would bring it up in this version specific thread as well.

I updated to 2018.16.1 on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning when I checked the app, the range dropped by 8 miles. Normally my car would only lose 1-2 miles overnight. Another owner reported a similar drop of 7+ miles after doing the update. I also noticed the temperature in the car appeared to change a lot within a few minutes, even though the heat wasn't turned on. As I watched from the app for a few minutes, I saw the temperature go from 38 to 41 to 43, 45 and then 47 before going back down to 43. Perhaps it was just a temperature sensor issue or calibration. Normally the temperature remains pretty steady if I check on it with the app and don't turn on the heat.

I think it was just a one-time thing since this morning, I was only down 1 mile from the night before. Perhaps the car was running some additional tests overnight after installing the update?

Did anyone else notice a similar drop in range after installing the update?

I've read of the "smart" preconditioning feature re-enabling itself on some cars after the update. Might be worth a check to see if yours has turned itself back on.

Yeah, I already confirmed that it is disabled. I only saw the drop in range one time so far...and the heat wasn't on when checking the car from the app.

I've noticed similar jumps before after software updates. I strongly suspected that it was either caused by something using energy during the update process, or a state of charge calibration change post-update.

I noticed that I had to do a reset after the update, the tesla app was not updating even after I had driven 5 miles and gone back onto wifi at the house. Side sensors seem a little more sensitive.

Range fluctuations and the impact of "vampire loss" is temporarily impacted by firmware revisions. In a few days, if not sooner, your car will revert back to what you have experienced previously.

I just got an update from 2018.4.5 about half an hour ago. It's still installing... seems like it sure takes longer to install than the 20-odd minute updates we used to get!

EDIT, finished about 10 minutes later. Set aside 45 minutes or so for this update.

just got this update on my AP1 70D this morning, 2018.6.1 641efac
small update it seems, quick to install, maybe around 20min or less

I noticed one small difference in the Release Notes that wasn't there in my last update
(I was previously on 2018.4.1 ec044c8, updated less than 3 weeks ago)

2018.6.1 adds a quick link to call Roadside Assistance on a Bluetooth-connected phone, directly from the "About Your Tesla" screen.

I just got 2018.6.1 this morning. I noticed one change on the autopilot section of the display. The speed limit sign used to say "Speed Limit", but now says "Max". Not sure if this means it's reading the text of nearby signs rather than pulling numbers from a database now?

So I have to ask, was the sign you passed by most recently one of those ones with a minimum and maximum speed on it (usually highway)?

I'm always wishing after every update that plumAzul will stop freaking out going over hills using autosteer. No joy on this one. She still cuts a hard right going over any hill that blocks her view of the lane markings. Come on guys. How about 10 feet of extrapolation so that this won't happen anymore??

On the positive side, I was able to drive on a road in my neighborhood using autopilot, that has only a poorly marked center line and no curbs or paint to mark the right side of the lane. The road has lots of curves and she did a good job. Just not on the hills, ...
