Did a search and didn't find a similar topic. I picked up my white model 3 in LA yesterday (non-employee) and love the car. Here are a few thoughts I had that could improve the car at this point in time via software updates:

#1 - Scheduled Charging: Must have! I want to plug my car in and not think about whether its charging during off peak hours or not. It's currently a disabled option and was told it will come at some point in time but wanted to highlight this.

#2 - Auto rain sensing wipers: Since you control turning on/off the CONTINUOUS wipers via center screen (not single wipe), I want this option on auto mode so I'm not distracted during driving. I prefer the traditional lever as there are times I'm constantly switching between speeds/auto, etc. for various reasons and having to control through the screen is more distracting. Must have for me!

#3 - Calendar: Nice to have a reminder of your appointments for the idea

#4 - Better USB music support. I prefer having my music library on a usb thumbnail to save space on my phone and preserve battery life. I'm able to play m4a files on Audis and Model S but not Model 3 so far. Also, sometimes it doesn't resume playing upon returning to my car. (FYI audio system is almost as good as Model S)

#5 - Summon: Nice to have and I use this every other week to reverse my car out of convenience

#6 - Web browser: I only use it when I'm supercharging and it's nice to have a large screen to browse with. The browser in the Model S is slow though but if it was as fast as chrome or firefox that would be killer.

I tried to capture some of this in my video:

    Love to hear some thoughts/questions!

I don't know about others but I feel like the throttle is a little too "touchy" or over-responsive and should be smoothed out a little or have the option to chose different modes.

I agree that #1 and #2 are high priority must haves.

You might want to post your whishes on Teslatap whishlist Features | TeslaTap

It's much more efficient arena where users can vote on the whishes.

What can you play? I thought others posted that music on USB flash drive did play. Does MP3 format work?

There is no browser on the 3 and probably shouldn’t be. Huge security hole.

Thank you for your comments, I think I agree with you, but I am confused. Which comments apply to T3 and which to MS? For example, does T3 have Summon or not? Aren't 1 thru 6 going to be implemented on the T3 over time? Would make sense to do that.

Totally agree on scheduled charging. It should be the first thing they fix! Plugged in when we got home and it starts charging at 40A mid day! Not economical.

One thing to add is that the right scroll wheel up/down does nothing during driving. Obviously programmable scroll wheels would be best. If I had to pick one please make it fan speed control. That is how we have our S configured.

How does that work? Does the scroll wheel control fan speed on both sides at the same time? My wife would not like me to control her fan speed according to my criteria! And then there is the issue of the 2 AC outlets for the rear seats in the TM3. How would you control fan speed for 4 AC zones with one scroll wheel?

Several of these have been asked for many times over the years.... I was astounded to find out that I can’t schedule preconditioning in my Model S, seeing as our Leaf has done it for 6 years.

Yes MP3 does work but not M4A which is what apples encodes to from itunes

All comments apply to the T3 - it does NOT have summon... 1 for sure will be implemented over time... not sure about 2-6

Very true ... right scroll wheel is basically for voice control or adjusting side mirrors or steerwheel. other than that it's just ... there. On the model S you can open your sunroof if you have one or control who to call.

This is crazy! Preconditioning is one of my favorite features on our Leaf. Soooo nice to hop in the car with the kids for school and have it nice and toasty. They always scramble to get in and feel the fan blowing warm air before I unplug the car:). It's great not to have to remember to pull out my phone and start it.

I am really surprised Tesla does not have this. They just released a battery warm up feature so maybe it's on their radar. Hopefully.

Tesla has the auto pre c
They have the auto pre conditioning but it’s hit and miss. I too would prefer scheduled.

While we are asking for features. Model 3 backup camer image is way too dark and warped with the fisheye. Needs to get fixed stat! Far worse than Model S HD CAMERA

My delivery specialist told me that this is being worked on. He said the autopilot computer likes the the fisheye but a software release will flatten it out for us humans sometime in the future.

This is an example of super fisheye and warped backup image. Note how cars blend into shadows and there is lot of blurring. It’s ok when still but when moving there is a lot of tearing.

This is what it looks like with a car behind you at night. It’s almost like there is no auto exposure on the camera. The model S HD camera looks crisp and clear day or night.

I will also add that my Tesla app shows the charge port always open regardless of the state on the car. Not sure if anyone else sees this.

Yes, charge port open shown on my app too. I got a follow up call from Tesla today to see if everything is A-Ok and I told the rep about it. He said that others have reported it too. They know about it.
