software upgrade 22.36.6 and FSD

Now that it's clear 10.69.3 is running on 2022.36.15, I immediately got the push of 2022.36.6 (as many others here did who are waiting for FSDb)
You also don't want to be too far behind. The last addition to FSD Beta 10.69.2 series based on 2022.20.x had new additions primarily for those on the three 2022.20.7/8/9 versions. Not so much for those on older versions and extremely unlikely for those on 2022.24/28/36.x newer versions.

Tesla even replied to NHTSA when they asked for FSD Beta:

Your VIN… is currently running a software version that is newer than the latest FSD Beta software version (2022.4 vs 2021.44.30.15) and we avoid downgrading software on production vehicles. The next FSD Beta release is currently planned for next week (V10.11) and will be newer than your current version. Therefore you could expect to download FSD Beta sometime in early March after v10.11 releases and assuming the SafetyScore on that car is still 97+.
So given that FSD Beta 10.69.3 is based on 2022.36.x, it seems safest to be on that same branch if wanting to get added.

I tend to agree, and that's why I've gone ahead and allowed 2022.36.6 to load onto my car. Who knows what "the mothership" is thinking when they decide who to add to the FSDb pool, but it seems intuitive that someone who has updated their vehicle recently (but not past the current FSDb thread) would be a good choice to be added to FSDb. Just my wishful thinking, anyway!

Well, I just installed 22.36.6. It was very annoying every time you start the car, it asks you to install. Based on what we discussed here, I am convinced that the installation probably will not affect my chance of getting the FSDb.

Obviously I will not upgrade to the 2022.40.x. I guess I need to set the software update to "Standard" instead of "advanced" or automatic to avoid the same thing happening again.

For those that want FSDb, I just don't understand why peeps keep installing software. There is zero evidence it helps to get FSDb and plenty of evidence to say it diminishes your chances. Perhaps it makes no difference. Point is, nobody here knows. So don't press that button. May as well buy a lotto ticket. Feeling lucky? Maybe but odds are WAY against you.

Yeah, but Carioke and energy graph in hand are better than maybe FSD "Soon"

I am asked to upgrate software to 2022.40.4.1 today. I think I am going to do it since the V11 is right behind (2022.40.5) and the 10.69.3 seems stalled in the installation numbers. There must be something undesirable in the 10.69.3

Looks like the large majority of updates for FSD Beta 10.69.3.1 / 2022.36.20 have been from 2022.36.6 so far. TeslaFi showing 63% and Teslascope 87%. Sounds like you haven't received it yet while still being on 2022.36.6? Are there any warnings that show up at the top of the Safety Score section of the app for you?

Yep, I'm still anxiously awaiting the 36.20 push to my car! No warnings showing on my Safety Score page, and I've been at 98-99% for months now with plenty of AP driving. Hopefully I'll get some good news soon!
