World’s cutest solar farm in China is shaped like a panda
Wow, simply WOW. and Why Not?
A little more digging into this on Snopes reveals...
"A spokesperson for UNDP China confirmed that the viral image was an artist’s rendering and sent us an image captured by a drone showing the real solar panda farm:"
It's still "cute" though!
Snopes also revealed that this is the site of a UFO landing in 1988. The aliens were said to be rotund black and white creatures. Thye also gave the Chinese a gift called 'stick-to-it-tiveness' -- which is apparently the resource they use to manufacture so many solar cells for so little. Now, in homage to the aliens, the Chinese have created this installation, in the hopes that some future generation of aliens will land there. Boy, I'll bet the Peruvians are pissed about this.
OK - why are some panels black and some white? Are they using two TYPES of panels, or just orienting the same panel a bit off to get a different reflection. What is happening here?
Different color panels, I assume. The black panels usually cost a bit more and generate a bit less energy.
On a more serious tone - but equally tin foil hat - look what a society can do when lead by a government with vision. Bet it is not just some entrepreneur with a profit motive.
China, once the world's biggest polluter, is now the world's largest backer of green energy
My friend did this on the roof of his brewery, Alamo Beer in San Antonio.
And disney’s solar farm here in Orlando
