Got an estimate from a solar installer this week. It was higher than I expected. Would need 24-28 SunPower panels.

Question I had was, does anyone ever buy the panels on one's own after finding a cheaper source than the installer themselves?

Is it possible to find good deals on SunPower panels?

SunPower is either selling laminates... or 'B' grade module... or both... you can get SunPower panels without the sun power name and price here;

I've also bought some from Hightec on Ebay. They swear up and down they're not SunPower... they just look EXACTLY the same and have EXACTLY the same specs :wink:

These off-brand modules don't usually have a UL stamp so they may not work for you if your utility is a stickler.
