I have a strong recollection that, at some time in the last 6 months or so, I saw an article describing a new technology for replacing the Rare Earth Elements in PV cells with base metals, thus removing the dependency on Chinese REEs, the environmental impact of obtaining the REEs and most of the cost.
The nearest I can now find is stuff about using nickel to replace gold in quantum dots, but I'm sure I was reading about REEs.
Can anyone help me prove that I'm not imagining things?
Thanks,
Nik
