Solar roof capacity vs. inverter capacity

Should the size of the inverters match the roof capacity?
We have a 14 kW roof. Our two inverters add up to 9 kW.

its common for the inverter to be less than the total PV capacity as it is very unusual to hit peak capacity due to roof angles.
What direction are your panels or roof tiles?

What is your peak generation today? Can you show a screen print of your production curve?

Our inverters (8 + 4) add up to 12 kW. The solar roof has a theoretical output of 12.75. kW

Im having a hard time seeing how the inverter ratings add up to 9kW. Are you adding the total of your inverter production together, or talking about your inverter ratings?

I suspect its the former (looking at your peak production) and not the later (telling us what your inverter ratings are). In either case, its perfectly normal for the inverter ratings not to add up to the total of the PV, but I would be surprised if you had inverter RATINGS that total 9.
