Wow these adapters plus shipping are rather pricey. Has anyone made some sort of lock to keep thieves from stealing the adapter? Right now I don't think I can deal with charging my car to a 120 volt (if I have to) or NEMA 14-50 at an RV park unattended.
Because the 14-50 adapter really looks like it's part of the cord, most likely only another Telsa owner would know that it comes off. I doubt we'll get to the old Land-Rover gas cap situation: In a given area there are 50 Land-Rovers and 45 gas caps. The gas caps cost $45 in 1975, so say $350 today. No one buys them because they're expensive, so when their Land-Rover goes in for service the gas caps get shuffled around.
