Sorry, I actually like the new UI :)

*sigh* how thin your arguments are! no input most often means the wrong output and then you’re right back where you started. Dealing with a poor UI. Boom.
Do you even like your car? Why not sell it and get something you're not going to complain about... this is really becoming more comical... If other UI's are so much better why not change?! They hold value rather well... not too late...

The complaints is probably what lead to *some* of the changes being fixed
Which is ironic because some of the complaints is that no one listens... when in fact they clearly do... customization is the best way to satisfy all. Let everyone put whatever they want on the bottom bar... that happens and all should rejoice yet still complaining and driving the same car they continue to trash... Quite entertaining at this point.

Attempts to fix something that you broke is not an improvement. Attempts, because the re-introduction of seat warmers and defoggers also brings weird and complex logic that I have never seen in a car before.
As for selling the car - if there was an EV alternative I would have been long gone. Some people I know already jumped the ship. Not solely because of the UI but that was the last straw.
Frankly, I have been on automotive forums for ages and never seen so many complains and so long treads about anything. I have a life after all and I am tired of this. My next car is definitely not Tesla and I would think twice before getting something without physical controls for the driving functions.

Ditto.

I have looked at both the EQE and Lucid. Both look like a good replacement for my aging Model S.
Interior quality of both looks to be miles ahead of the S.

I have already driven the EQS and it’s a bit too big for my tastes. Lucid is smaller than the current S but bigger on the inside, which is an amazing feat. It’s curb weight is too high at 6000 lbs, but the lower range (still supposedly 400+ miles) might be lighter, may be around 5200 lbs or so. Still too heavy, but that’s the way it is with current battery tech.

Sounds like you should be driving another car with all that hate. So sorry to hear your experience has been subpar because it works really well for me. Almost too well.
Not hate, just disappointed with functions that should work at least as well as any other manufacturer. My wife’s Hyundai Kona E (a £30k car) manages all these better, hence the disappointment. Sounds like you should learn to inwardly digest what has actually been written before replying after not comprehending.

I think that there are reasons for this....for a start this place is more of a community than other car brand sites, so if you take away the humorous replies, the personal attacks, the thread drifts etc etc you are still left with a huge amount of people who have a real thirst for knowledge about these remarkable vehicles.
Other car brand consist of the problem followed by instructions on how to fix it...short and sweet..what else do you need to know, it’s an internal combustion engined car, most people know as much as they want to know and just need the specialist knowledge for the problem at hand

I can see your point but not for the V11 related treads. The others look very similar to the forums I am used to - someone has thirst for knowledge and they get either direct advice or a discussion that helps them answer the question.
V11 treads are different - people have very legitimate concerns about low quality fundamental functionality on a luxury car. Not only the rug was pulled underneath them but also they do not really have a recourse or place to voice their grievances. Even with dieselgate, once the cat was out of the bag, VW was much more forthcoming and considered. Frankly, one of my biggest concerns as an owner is the “Tesla cannot do wrong” attitude - both from the company and some of the owners. Realizing mistakes, owning them and improving is critical. People are willing to forgive mistakes, especially with a cult brand like Tesla. Imagine what the reaction (and length of those treads) could have been if Elon came up, said “Mea culpa” and they fixed it a month later. I mean really fixed it.

To compare your personal opinion of V11 to Dieselgate is a little over the top...one is a touchscreen click too many the other was an attempt to defraud and pollute the planet......but VW’s entire history is shameful...so hollow apologies and crocodile tears come easily to them...

It is not my personal opinion - this Internet, incl. this site, is full of a lot of objective information about the mess called V11.
As for dieselgate, yes, it is a shame what they did, no doubt about it. It is a bigger mess than V11, for sure, magnitudes bigger. But they handled it much better than what Tesla is doing with V11.
No they didn’t handle it well...after it was discovered they kept quiet until the threat of prosecution and class action worldwide....then an expensive team of consultants and lawyers would have crafted a mea culpa ....I prefer a shrug from Elon and an update to try and rectify it.
Look, I don’t really like the new UI and preferred the old one...but.. I really cannot get emotional over it..it’s just an update...I’ve had computer updates before....that’s what software companies do
