Sound insulation - is it worth it to reduce road noise and suggestions on what and how

Those of you have sound isolation installed: Was it worth it? What do you have installed and where in the car?

I have a box of quality sound insulation I was saving for a special occasion (aka model 3). My initial plan is to install insulation directly on the metal of the doors behind the window regulator and any place else that makes sense in the door. I also plan on adding weather stripping/door seal (for lack of a better term) that creates a better seal around the doors and makes door sound more solid when closed.

I'll also be installing sound insulation in the trunk.
