South Carolina - Title & Registration

Hi, I'm looking for help from any Tesla owners in South Carolina. I recently purchased an inventory Model X 100D from Tesla in Decatur, GA. I have temporary Georgia license plate good through 9/22/2017. I know about and have the forms for paying property tax at my county office and the SC DMV title application Form 400.

My delivery specialist said that Tesla would send me the other document(s) that I'll need to submit with my SC title application, but I haven't received anything yet. It's been a little over 2 weeks since I picked up the car. I'm trying to follow up, but they haven't been very responsive and I see that others have noted similar issues.

My question for anybody in SC is what document(s) did you get from Tesla, how did you receive them (mail, FedEx) and how long did it take to get them? I saw a post from the Texas forum that they received a FedEx package containing
MCO (Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin) and Bill of Sale - is that what I should expect?

I love my car so far, but will rest a bit easier when I get the documentation sorted. Thanks in advance for any information.

I received the MCO about three weeks (via Fedex) after I picked mine up at the Charlotte, NC sales center. After that I took the Form 400 to my county tax office and paid the property taxes (ouch), then paid for the registration, and then picked up the tag. The entire process took about an hour and a half at the Greenville tax office.

I live in Beaufort County and their web site gives you a pretty accurate estimate of the motor vehicle property tax if you fill in purchase price and local tax district. Your county may have something similar and the millage rates can vary quite a bit so make sure you are applying the one for where you live. When I paid the tax, they looked up a value for the car on some web site they use, but it was pretty close to the actual price I paid for the car. I think in future years they use some type of depreciated value to determine the assessment, then apply your taxing district's millage rate to calculate the tax owed.

I took possession three weeks ago and have not received anything other than the 30-day temp tag from NC that was on the vehicle when I took delivery. I plan to transfer the tag from my old car and so have 45 days from purchase to do that I think. Does anyone know whether I can just take the purchase agreement and NC temporary registration to SC DMV to obtain title and registration? Do I actually need anything else from Tesla? I can avoid the first year of SC property tax by transferring my existing SC registration, which is a huge benefit, but I’m pretty sure that has to be done within 45 days of purchase.
