Hello everyone, hope you all had a good holiday season.
On behalf of our club Jaff and I sent lunch to the Mississauga service centre on December 24th and the Toronto East location on December 27th.
This included Pizza, wings and pop etc.
This was to thank them for all their help this year and especially the long hours they are working now near year end.
Kevin, Eli, the delivery specialists and all the team members were very appreciative.
Stay tuned for a date in January for our next meeting.
There should be a few P85Ds there! (although both Jaff and I are still waiting for ours, hopefully we get them this week.
All the best,
John

Happy New Year everyone!
I have scheduled our next meeting for Wednesday January 21[SUP]st[/SUP].
It will be the same location as last time at Fortino’s in their meeting room at the store in Woodbridge.
The actual address is 3940 Highway #7, Woodbridge.(Basically 407 and 400)
The room will be open at 6:00 and Pizza andbeverages will be available then. We will formally start the meeting at 7:00and go to 9:00 although we have the room until 9:30.
I figured that as some of us will have our P85Dsthere that between 6:00 and 7:00 we can show them (and perhaps offer a drive ifyou twist our arms)

We will have the food refreshed at 7:00 for themeeting.
Once again let me know if you have any topics youwant to cover.
In addition please RSVP as we have a maximum of 40and expect a lot of new members this time.
Thanks

John

Hello Mr. Dixon

I am the president of Nikola Tesla Educational Corporation based Hamilton Ontario. We are a very new organization, that was formed in April 2014. Our goal is to spread the word about Nikola Tesla, his work and his legacy. In October 2013, I personally approached the Mayor of Hamilton, Bob Bratina, to seek his support in my vision of erecting a statue of Nikola Tesla in Hamilton ON. I was shocked to learn that the City of Hamilton was actually the first major city in Canada to receive AC electricity. This amassing historical revelation has inspired me to go a lot further than I initially had envisioned. We have already made a presentation to the City of Hamilton General Issues Committee on our vision how Nikola Tesla can inspire a new generation of Hamiltonians and beyond. Our plans are progressing well and we continue to meet with city staff to work out the details before the package goes back to council for their approval.

I am writing this to you with the hope that we can form a strategic alliance to help bring forward this historical significance that Nikola Tesla invention played in the development of "The Electric City" as it was known in the early 20th century.

I, accompanied by a few of my directors, would be honoured if we could attend your next meeting.

Regards

Vic

It was nice to see everyone at the meeting last night. Was taken for my first ride in a D by Osama, and was blown away by how fast it is! The information talked about regarding ver 6.1 will be handy since I just received it this morning
Managed to grab one picture last night:

Sorry Duckjybe, I knew you bought the snowblower...and on behalf of the club members, forgot to thank you for that!

We did get to sit in a car with next Gen rear seats last night...I found them very comfortable and they looked great!

No need for salt lately around here because there is zero snow. I bought a snowblower after the first storm in early December and we have had almost nothing since.

Yes thanks John for your work in organizing these events (I forgot to leave my donation towards costs - next time). Looking forward to the Barrie opening convoy if that works out.

Doug, in addition to John and Jaff you have celebrity/guru status at these meetings: "Doug says this", "Doug says that".

January meeting summary

So we had another great turn out this week, (30+) Many new members came out to their first meeting.
As previously mentioned the P85D owners were doing test drives and showing off the 6.1 features.
One member said when I floored it "I literally thought we were rear ended by that truck" and everyone agreed it was pretty amazing that so many current Model S owners still got a rush from the insane mode.

We agreed to try and get a rally going to the Barrie SC opening which should be in about a week according to Terry who is a member and one of the property owners. We also set up a social committee that will start to investigate functions like taking part in the Unionville festival.
Stefan agreed to follow up on my research to start our own website and member management system.
We had some good discussions on winter driving and tips and tricks for 6.1
Stay tuned for updates on the topics just mentioned and for the date of our next meeting which will probably be the third week in March.
Cheers
John

Any word on Barrie? I was by there last Saturday and all the stalls were complete, the utility transformer was in place, but the entire equipment area, the area that is usually behind a wooden enclosure, was completely covered with a giant white tent. I assume it was to keep the weather out while they work.

Still a tent over it? They have been working on covering the outside in nice stone.

Well, as of last Saturday afternoon. Maybe it had more to do with the stone work than with weather protection for the workers. Sometimes in winter it is necessary to cover up like this so concrete will set properly. The last time I was by (a few weeks prior) all of the Supercharger equipment looked like it was there. Access to the parking area itself was still blocked at the entrances.
