After viewing on Google Earth how close the SpaceX facility at Boca Chica is to the Gulf and it's elevation above the Gulf one thing comes to mind, a hurricane disaster. This facility's nearness to the Gulf is very similar to Hiway 87 on the Bolivar Peninsula at Gilchrest. One only has to look at photos of Hurricane Ike damage on the the Bolivar Peninsula. The big problem is the time it takes to move equipment, protect equipment from storm surge's rising waters, and evacuate is much greater than the warning time of an impending Hurricane's arrival. Are the launch control centers elevated and built to with stand hurricane force winds? Hopefully they are.
