Tonight's CRS-20 had a beautiful launch and booster RTLS. Even the high surface winds at the Cape could not deny SpaceX from achieving booster landing number 50.

Just saw the launch and separation and landing of Stage 1. Wow 50 under their belt now. Nice landing too. Flight is nominal and on way to ISS for resupply. Another one for the record books. Congrats SpaceX team.

Some very cool visuals this time from the returning booster. 50th successful landing, 3rd and final reuse of this Dragon, and final use of a Dragon 1 capsule are highlights from this final CRS1 contract mission.

I highly recommend watching the NASA livestream for some different angles of the launch.

Great photography work from those guys. That second time lapse photo turned out really cool. Looking at the Stage 1 booster standing there all proud in the daylight, such a thing of beauty!

I am trying to understand what this amazing time lapse image captured by John Kraus shows. I can see where MECO occurred, and SES. So the line arcing away from the flight path towards the upper border of the image is the booster, right? And the exhaust plume from the boost back burn, which started within a couple of seconds after stage sep is visible just above the exhaust plume that flared out before MECO. Pretty incredible!

I forget that stage 1 keeps going up while it rotates and executes boost back.

I also feel like that boostback burn started earlier than ever.
