    My speculation on what happened with B1059 would be that there was some kind of heat shield failure allowing penetration. Just a guess. We'll see what SpaceX lets us know.

    At least one fairing half was recovered according to Elon.

    I thought the same thing too, but then I realized these birds float like ducks, so it isn't a big problem for them.

    Upon a successful Falcon landing, I wonder at what point these seagulls vacate the platform before becoming extra crispy?

    No animals are harmed in the landing of this orbital-class booster
