SpaceX has a history of failures and explosions and industry experts point to the poor testing practices and poor safety culture that pervades both of Musk's companies, SpaceX and Tesla. It is well known that Tesla cars explode frequently due to unsafe battery design, called out by multiple whistle blowers.

The fact that someone could even be wondering if this could be real, speaks volumes of how much trash reporters like Lora and Russ have taken spreading negativity and FUD to the next level. Even the most spoofy Onion like article is not too far from what these guys write.
