Spare 12v in housing above rearview mirror

Hi all,
Getting ready to install a blackview dashcam, does anyone know if the spare 12v in the housing above the rearview mirror is constant of switch? If it's switch, where is the easiest access to find constant 12v?

It is constant. There were reports that v8 may have changed it to be unpowered when the car is off, but I don't recall seeing a confirmation of that.
