Spare tire in Australia?

Question for you Aussies? When I bought my Nissan Leaf 3 years ago, the big Leaf forum said that all cars sold in Australia had to have a spare tire. So Nissan basically mounted a spare tire holder on bottom back of the car.

Is that still a requirement? Do Tesla's sold there have a spare tire.

Australia law does not require a spare tire. In fact, the article says you can be fined for using a different size such as a spare tire.
